Cardiovascular Services Closer to Home

When you experience an emergency and are in need of cardiovascular services, every second counts. Rockdale Medical Center unveiled its new Heart and Vascular Center and Interventional Cardiology Program on July 16, 2015. This program is in partnership with Piedmont Heart to get the care you need closer to home. Our new Heart and Vascular Center includes the addition of a multi-million dollar catheterization laboratory (or cath lab) and development of the coronary angioplasty (PCI) program.

By providing the new PCI program , if you have heart disease and require a procedure, you now have the alternative of non-surgical procedures compared to traditional coronary bypass surgery. This alternative can reduce your downtime and shorten your recovery period. We can also coordinate care for chest pain patients to promote more prompt diagnosis and streamline treatment.

In addition to PCI, you can receive a range of cardiovascular diagnostic services including:

  • Advanced cardiac and vascular ultrasound
  • Advanced imaging technology
  • Cardiac catheterization
  • Cardiac rehabilitation
  • Cardiac stress testing
  • Cardiovascular inpatient and outpatient care
  • Electroencephalography (EEG)/Electrocardiogram (EKG)
  • Endovascular diagnostic and intervention
  • Heart failure services
  • Pacemaker placement
  • Peripheral angiography
  • Stress echocardiography
  • Vascular surgery
  • Venous, carotid and lower arterial studies
  • Wellness and prevention programs

With a focus on helping you to live a healthier life, our specialists provide quality service to prevent, diagnose, and treat cardiovascular disease. We use medical excellence with advanced technology to provide early diagnosis and advanced cardiac care. We are a 138-bed acute-care hospital that is part of LifePoint Hospitals.

If you are interested in keeping your heart healthy, you can participate in our Level III cardiac rehabilitation and fitness program. In our program, you will learn how to recognize the symptoms, reduce your risk, and perform continual monitoring for a healthy heart. You can enroll in our program regardless of whether you have been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease or not. To enroll, you must have a referral from your doctor.
