Diabetes Education

Rockdale Medical Center’s Diabetes Education team consists of diabetes nurse educators, a registered dietitian, and an exercise physiologist. Our Diabetes Education Program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for quality diabetes self-management education. We offer several programs a month, including daytime and evening classes. An individual assessment is conducted prior to attending the program, and follow-up is done at three and twelve months after completion of the class. We also offer individual counseling, a Diabetes Education Refresher Course, and a Carbohydrate Counting Class.

A physician referral is required for all educational classes and individual counseling. Our office will verify insurance coverage and obtain any needed pre-certification. For ongoing diabetes education and support, monthly diabetes support group meetings are provided free of charge with day and evening sessions available.
