Hyperbaric and Wound Healing Center
When you have a wound that persists and has not healed using standard medical treatment, it is considered a problem or chronic wound. Rockdale Medical Center’s Comprehensive Hyperbaric and Wound Healing Center specializes in the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds. To treat each patient, we provide a customized comprehensive care plan. This plan is developed in conjunction with our physicians and your primary care physician or specialist.
Our Hyperbaric and Wound Healing Center is an outpatient, hospital-based program. We offer advanced therapies to speed your recovery. These therapies include:
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)
- Skin grafting
- Negative pressure wound therapy (Wound VAC)
- Growth factor therapy
- Total contact casting (TCC)
Chronic, non-healing wounds are often associated with inadequate circulation, immobility, and diabetes. They include hard-to-heal sores, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, chronic venous stasis ulcers, and traumatic injuries. They can affect your quality of life if left untreated.
The elderly and those with diabetes have the highest risk of getting chronic, non-healing wounds. This growing problem is spurred by the aging of America and increase in diabetes. Of the approximate 18.5 million Americans who have diabetes, about 1.8 million will suffer from a problem wound.
If you are one of those suffering, don’t wait any longer to get treatment. For more information, contact our Hyperbaric and Wound Healing Center at (678) 413-7738.
